I went to the Mono Council meeting this morning along with my 20 year old son and a few neighbors. We live of Hwy 10 just below Hockley Valley Road. The speed limit changes from 80km/hour to 60km/hour between First Street and Hockley Valley Road. This being a residential area, the need for drivers to slow down is imperative. When heading south out of our subdivision, we need to go across two lanes of traffic. Most of the time, drivers have ignored the posted speed limit of 60 and are flying by at 80-90km/hour. It can sometimes be very scary trying to get onto hwy 10. Last summer, one of my neighbors was seriously injured when they were south on Hwy 10 and turning east into our subdivision. 

Well, we do believe there is good news and that a much needed traffic light will be installed at Cedar Grove and Hwy 10. Apparently the job goes to tender July 1st and completion date is set for October 2010. Collectively, we are hoping that this comes to fruition. We have been told before that lights would be installed the spring of 2010. Let's see if our Township does the right thing.
